Families in Summerside have a new local option for spring activities with the launch of an eight-week art club for children at the Eptek Art & Culture Centre. Starting April 26, 2026, the Let’s Get Creative Art Club will provide children with a space to explore various artistic mediums through weekly Sunday sessions.
The program is designed for children between the ages of 5 and 14 and will feature hands-on projects including painting, clay, collage, paper crafts, puppet making, and drawing. Led by art educator Ryan McAdam-Young, the club aims to foster creativity in a fun, community-focused environment. This initiative marks a return partnership between the instructor and the centre, which is administered by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.
Sessions will run every Sunday through June 14, 2026. Two time slots are available to accommodate different schedules: the first group meets from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., followed by the second group from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost for the full eight-week program is $155 per participant, with all necessary supplies included.
Because space is limited, pre-registration is required. Interested families can secure a spot for their children by calling the Eptek Centre at 902-888-8373.
The launch of the club coincides with the final days of the Two Magical Journeys exhibit, which is currently on display in the centre’s lobby. Featuring artwork by Sheila Forsyth from her children’s books, the exhibit runs until April 26. A special book reading featuring the author is also set for April 26 at 1:00 p.m.
