The annual food celebration known as PEI Burger Love returns to Summerside and communities across the province from April 1 to April 30, 2026. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the event, which encourages residents to explore local culinary creations while supporting a significant provincial cause.
During the month-long event, participating restaurants across Prince Edward Island will feature unique, specially crafted burgers. Each participating eatery commits to donating $1 from every burger sold directly to Anderson House, the province’s emergency shelter for women, trans and non-binary individuals, and their children who require safety from family violence.
The campaign continues to grow in both community participation and charitable impact. In 2025, the event saw 91 restaurant locations create 88 unique burgers, resulting in 113,474 burgers sold. That effort raised $113,474 for Anderson House, marking the highest fundraising total for the campaign to date and a 25 per cent increase over the previous year.
For residents of Summerside, the specific participating restaurants and their unique burger offerings for 2026 will be revealed on April 1. Historical participants in the city have included local establishments such as the Silver Fox, known as the Breakwater Bar and Grill, as well as Brothers 2 Restaurant. The event is owned and marketed by Fresh Media and is run in partnership with Anderson House. It receives support from several industry partners, including Atlantic Beef Products, the Cattle Producers of PEI, Canada Beef, the Food Island Partnership, and the Province of PEI.
