The AA boys and girls basketball teams at Summerside Intermediate School in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, competed in the provincial semi-final round on February 27, 2026. The students are competing for a spot in the championship games after a successful season on the court.
The boys team advanced to the semi-finals after winning their quarter-final game against Stonepark on February 26. On Friday, the team played their semi-final match against the players from Queen Charlotte to determine who would move on to the provincial finals.
The girls team also earned a spot in the semi-finals and hosted a game against Birchwood in Summerside on Friday at 5:00 PM. Local families and supporters attended the evening game to cheer on the home team.
Teams that win their semi-final games move on to the provincial championships held at the Holland College McMillan Centre in Charlottetown. This venue serves as a central location for PEISAA basketball finals, which are scheduled to be hosted at the centre through 2027.
The playoff run has created a lot of school spirit as families adjusted their after-school routines to follow the teams. These results determine which schools will represent the community in the fight for the provincial title.
