The annual Tri-Lobster event in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, has been rebranded as the Subaru TriLobster Multi-Sport Festival for 2026, reflecting an expanded lineup of races beyond the traditional swim-bike-run format. The festival, hosted by Triathlon PEI, is set for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Credit Union Place and the Summerside waterfront.
The new name replaces the previous Subaru Trilobster Triathlon, which celebrated its 10th edition in 2025. This year’s festival will include triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and aquathlon events, giving athletes of all ages and abilities more ways to take part. Reflecting on the inclusive spirit of the competition, event organizer Marian Grant said after the 2024 edition, “We were catering to athletes of all ages and abilities.”
The event continues to serve as a qualifier for Team Canada, with top finishers earning spots at the 2027 Multisport World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta, and the 2027 Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg, Germany. Athletes will swim in Summerside Harbor, cycle on flat PEI roads, and run along the boardwalk, all while the festival honours the legacy of Neil Robertson, a founding father of triathlon in PEI, through the Neil Robertson Standard Triathlon Memorial Race.
