The Subaru of Charlottetown Tri-Lobster Triathlon is returning to Summerside, Prince Edward Island, on August 16, 2026, bringing nearly 200 athletes to the city’s waterfront. According to Explore Summerside, the event will serve as a world-qualifier, giving local and visiting competitors a chance to earn spots at global championships.

The day of racing will run from 6:15 AM to 5:00 PM, with the main event headquarters located at 194 Heather Moyse Drive. Residents and visitors should expect temporary changes to road access in the downtown area and high levels of activity along the waterfront boardwalk. The course is known for being flat and fast, utilizing the harbour for the swim and coastal roads for the biking portion of the race.

Organized by Triathlon Prince Edward Island, the multisport festival includes several different categories such as the standard and sprint triathlons, a duathlon, and an aquabike race. There is also a “Kids of Steel” division designed specifically for younger participants. Information regarding the different race formats is also provided by Tourism PEI.

The event is supported by Subaru of Charlottetown and typically draws nearly 200 athletes along with their families and supporters. Local shops, hotels, and food vendors in the downtown core are expected to see an economic boost from the increased foot traffic during the weekend. This concentration of visitors helps reinforce the city’s reputation as a destination for regional and international sports tourism.
