Most local minor hockey activities take place at Credit Union Place, which serves as the primary home for youth and junior teams in the area. The facility hosts about 20 different tournaments every year, bringing in many visitors to the community. Officials say these hockey events help support local businesses by bringing in roughly $3 million to the area between October and March.
This year’s provincial championships are being held over two weekends in March 2026. The first round of games happened from March 20 to March 22, and the second round is set for March 27 to March 29. The victory by the Under-18 Capitals highlights the continued growth of youth sports in the city.
