The Ross Family, a trio of siblings from Prince Edward Island, will celebrate 20 years of performing with a special ceilidh on July 7, 2026, at the Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre in Summerside.
The musical group, composed of siblings Stephanie, Johnny, and Danielle Ross, has grown from its roots in family kitchen parties into a staple of Island entertainment. Their upcoming performance will feature the group’s signature blend of Scottish, Irish, and Acadian traditions, including fiddle sets, step-dancing, and vocal performances. The siblings carry on a deep musical heritage, as their mother, Dorothy Arsenault Ross, was a member of the Arsenault Sisters step-dancing trio and the daughter of Willie Arsenault, a well-known fiddler from the Evangeline region.
During the performance, Danielle Ross will provide fiddle, vocals, and step-dancing, while Stephanie Ross contributes guitar, vocals, percussion, and step-dancing. Johnny Ross will serve as the host and perform on the piano. Johnny Ross noted that performing with his siblings is a long-standing family tradition that dates back to their childhood, stating that it brings him great joy to perform together.
The event will be held at the Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre, which operates as part of the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada. The theatre, which seats approximately 290 people, was opened in 2018 following a $4 million construction project. The venue is dedicated to the legacy of the late Scott MacAulay, who served as the founding director of the college and helped establish the city as a hub for Celtic performing arts.
