The Swan Valley Stampeders in Swan River, Manitoba, have named goaltender Kobe Grant the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Player of the Month after he posted a 2.40 goals‑against average and a .933 save percentage over five appearances in October.
Grant, born March 10, 2002, in Sicamous, B.C., joined the Stampeders via trade from the Prince George Spruce Kings in October 2021. His recent run of form helped push Swan Valley to the top of the MJHL’s West Division standings.
Head coach and general manager Barry Wolff said Grant’s calm technical style and ability to rise to big‑game moments have become the backbone of the team’s defence and key to its playoff aspirations.
Grant’s .933 save percentage ranks among the highest in franchise history, and he played a major role in Swan Valley winning its first division title. His season performance also earned him recognition as a finalist for the CJHL Top Goaltender award and a commitment to play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of Wisconsin–Superior.
The Player of the Month award is presented in partnership with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries to highlight the most impactful performer on and off the ice for the Swan Valley Stampeders.
