The Sylvan Lake, Alberta, community will host the inaugural Food Truck Warz and Show from September 25 to September 27, 2026. This new three-day event is designed to bring together food vendors, live entertainment, and a car show to encourage community fun and support local shops.
The festival will take place on Festival Street, which is located on 50A Street in the downtown area. The Town of Sylvan Lake previously received $556,194 in federal funding to upgrade this space with electrical outlets for vendors and improved access for people walking through the district.
This event builds on the success of existing local traditions, such as the weekly food truck lunch held by Visit Sylvan Lake every Thursday during the summer. The addition of a car show aligns with the interests of local automotive fans who have previously gathered for shows featuring more than 200 vehicles.
By holding the festival in late September, organizers hope to draw more people to the downtown core after the busy summer season ends. The event is part of a larger effort to provide new activities for the town’s growing population, which is now estimated at more than 17,000 residents.
