The RM of Taché will host a two-day Winter Carnival at the Lorette Community Complex in Lorette, Manitoba, on February 7 and February 8, 2026. The weekend event offers local residents a chance to gather for outdoor activities and a pancake breakfast during the final winter season for the town’s current arena, which is slated to be replaced when the new Taché Community Centre opens in summer 2026.

The festival includes a community pancake breakfast that traditionally kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Families can also go skating on the outdoor rink or use the dedicated toboggan hill for sledding.

Proceeds from the breakfast will help buy sports equipment for local kids. The Lorette Family Fun Group is organizing the weekend with help from local clubs including the Lorette Comets and the Seine River Skating Club. According to the Province of Manitoba, “Arenas and community centres are places where people come together in small towns – where kids learn to skate and play hockey and families spend time together on the weekends,” Premier Wab Kinew said.

The current arena has served the community since 1964. As reported by local news, Mayor Armand Poirier said the new facility will be “the heart and soul” of the community for years to come.

A new $29.5-million Taché Community Centre is under construction and is expected to open in summer 2026. More details on the project were reported by The Carillon.

Attendees should confirm event times and details with the RM of Taché at 204-878-2979.
