Tecumseh residents can enjoy a free outdoor movie night on Friday, July 10, as the Town’s annual Moonlight Movie Night returns to Town Centre Park beside the Tecumseh Arena at 12021 McNorton Street.
The evening begins at 8:30 p.m. with the animated family comedy Despicable Me (2010) starting around 9:15 p.m. after sunset. Organizers encourage everyone to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and bug spray. A free snack will be available while supplies last.
The event is part of a busy Town of Tecumseh summer lineup that also includes Tecumseh Twilight on July 24, a Maidstone Museum Open Garden Tour on July 25-26, and Lakewood Summer Sounds on August 2. A second movie night is planned for August 28.
This year’s screening is sponsored by Imagine Cinemas, a Canadian-owned theatre chain whose flagship Lakeshore Cinemas location opened in Tecumseh in 2005. Diamond and Diamond Lawyers LLP is providing the snack sponsorship.
While the town continues storm and flood cleanup from severe weather earlier this month, the event remains scheduled as planned.
