At St. Clair College’s Windsor South Campus (near Tecumseh), the Saints Gaming varsity esports program claimed five Canadian national championship banners at the Esport Canada Post-Secondary (ECPS) Canadian Esports Nationals in December 2025. That run follows an earlier, historic sweep in May 2024 when St. Clair captured six ECPS titles — the first time a Canadian school took every category at the nationals.

The program’s home arena, the Nexus at Windsor South Campus, is a 15,000-square-foot esports arena and broadcast facility that opened in 2022 as part of a roughly $23-million renovation of the Don France Student Commons. The Nexus includes approximately 110 gaming PCs and an esports broadcast lab and supports the college’s two-year Esports Administration and Entrepreneurship diploma.

Local talent has been part of the program’s rise: the college identifies Tecumseh-area players among its roster of contributors to the recent championships. High schools in the region, including Tecumseh Vista Academy, have begun organizing esports clubs, which college officials say helps create a recruitment pipeline into the varsity program.

College officials said the championship results will help recruiting, enrich student life and further cement esports as a pillar of post‑secondary athletics in the Windsor‑Essex region. St. Clair’s esports leadership also notes that the program has been recognised nationally and has a multi‑year record of success in both Canadian and North American collegiate competitions.
