Shoppers in Tecumseh can stretch their dollars a little further on June 16, 2026, when the Tecumseh BIA hosts its annual Tecumseh Dollars Sale. The one-day event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and offers a 20 per cent bonus on Tecumseh Dollars gift cards, meaning a $50 purchase actually costs just $40.
The sale applies to orders between $50 and $250, and shipping is free. However, the offer is only available while supplies last, so anyone wanting to grab the discounted gift cards should move quickly once the sale goes live at the event page.
Tecumseh Dollars are accepted at more than 50 local businesses, including restaurants, boutiques, salons and service providers. The program is designed to keep money circulating within the community, and as of August 1, 2025, Zehrs and Shoppers Drug Mart no longer accept the gift cards. The BIA says that change was made to sharpen the program’s focus on independent local businesses.
“Every $50 spent on Tecumseh Dollars actually costs you only $40!” the BIA states on its website. “Enjoying a bonus with Tecumseh Dollars is more than a perk—it’s our way of making your commitment to local businesses go further.” The gift cards never expire, so they can be used right away or saved for later.
The BIA, a not-for-profit organization representing more than 300 businesses in Tecumseh, is led by Chair Eddy Hammoud of Tabouli by Eddy’s and Vice Chair Laura Carcelen of Oven 360 Tecumseh. Its board also includes other local business owners and two council liaisons from the Town of Tecumseh.
