Families and winter travelers planning a trip to Blue Mountain Resort should take note of updated operational rules at the Plunge! Aquatic Centre. The facility, a popular year-round destination featuring indoor and outdoor heated pools, has transitioned to its winter schedule with specific restrictions on weekday access and capacity management.
Winter Hours and Access
The Plunge! Aquatic Centre is currently following a weekend-centric winter schedule. From November 1 through December 18, 2025, the facility is closed Monday through Thursday and open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Patrons should note that the schedule will shift to daily operations (10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) during the holiday period from December 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
Access to the pools is typically granted via a Single-Use Attraction Ticket, which provides a maximum of two hours of swim time. Due to its popularity, the centre enforces a strict capacity limit of 350 people. Once this limit is reached, a waitlist is implemented, and entry is managed on a one-in, one-out basis.
Pass Holder Discounts and Birthday Parties
Frequent visitors and resort guests can take advantage of various ticketing discounts. Holders of 5×7® and IKON Passes are eligible for a 25% discount on admission when they present their valid pass at the ticket window. Additionally, the facility offers a “Splash Pass,” which provides eight pre-paid visits at a reduced rate, though these must be purchased in person and remain subject to capacity restraints.
For those celebrating special occasions, weekend birthday party bookings are available on Saturdays and Sundays. These packages typically include pool access and use of a designated party area, with bookings managed through an online request form.
Infrastructure Upgrades and Facility Rules
The current operations follow a significant investment in the facility’s long-term sustainability. On September 2, 2025, the Ontario government announced a $166,636 grant for Plunge! through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF). This funding is earmarked for critical repairs, including:
-
Replacement of the main water slide and action pool deck.
-
Upgrades to the heat trace system to maintain outdoor pool safety.
-
Renovations to the multi-purpose room used for community events and parties.
Patrons are reminded of standard guest policies to ensure safety. Children aged six and under must remain within arm’s reach of a swimming adult, while those aged seven to nine must be supervised by an adult in the pool area. Towels are available for a $1 rental fee, and participants under the age of three receive complimentary admission. The indoor/outdoor pools are maintained at approximately 85°F ($29$°C), while the hot tubs reach a steamy 102°F ($39$°C).
