The Manitoba First Nations Police Service is investigating a drive-by shooting that took place at the Fisher River Cree Nation police station in Manitoba on February 10, 2026.
In the early morning hours, unidentified people on an all-terrain vehicle fired several shots at the station and parked police cars. While two officers were working inside the building during the attack, no injuries were reported for the staff or the community.
Local leaders believe the shooting was a targeted act meant to scare the police and the community. Chief David Crate explained that the attack is likely a reaction to an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the area.
As of February 17, 2026, no arrests have been made and the investigation is still active. The police service, which also provides policing services for the Opaskwayak area near The Pas, is currently reviewing camera footage to identify the suspects.
