Councillor Trent Allen has started a series of community meetings in The Pas, Manitoba, to hear from residents about youth programs and local business growth. These informal talks give people a chance to share their thoughts on town services well before the municipal election on October 28, 2026.

Allen, who also serves as the president of The Pas and District Chamber of Commerce, is holding these sessions at local spots like the Wescana Inn. He is using his background as a Property Manager with the Government of Manitoba and as a local business leader to look for ways to make town services run more effectively.

The meetings focus on three main areas: expanding activities for young people, growing the local economy, and improving how the town works for its citizens. Allen has previously said activities such as recent economic-development tours help bring visibility to regional opportunities for investment and growth, and he views these community conversations as part of that broader effort.

While the municipal election is still several months away, these early sessions are meant to help build a plan based on direct feedback from neighbours. As of Feb. 3, 2026, there are no public reports of other local candidates announcing similar public listening events.
