The Pas Regional Library in The Pas, Manitoba, is staying open late on Thursday, February 5, 2026, for a community art event. The session is designed for residents aged 14 and older who want to create and exchange small, handmade art cards.
The event will run from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the library annex located at 53 Edwards Avenue. By staying open until late evening, the library is offering a creative space for people who might be busy with school or work during the day.
Participants will make cards that are 2.5 by 3.5 inches, which is the same size as a standard trading card. The library is providing all the necessary supplies for free, including paper, ink, stamps, and markers, though visitors are welcome to bring their own tools.
According to the Manitoba Archival Information Network, the library serves the town, the Rural Municipality of Kelsey, and the Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The library building is well-known in the community for being a former fire hall that was converted into a public space.
The evening programs are supported by library workers who are members of MGEU Local 440. This art session follows other successful after-hours activities held at the library, such as community game nights and reading clubs.
