The Town of The Pas has opened its 2026 community grants program, inviting local non-profits, community groups and unincorporated organizations to apply for funding to support new events and initiatives that boost safety, recreation and cultural projects in town. Applications and information sessions are available, with details on eligibility criteria, funding limits and reporting requirements.

The grants include municipal funding overseen by the town’s Grants Review Committee and a Small Grants Fund administered by The Pas Community Renewal Corporation (TPCRC). Eligible applicants must have a bank account in The Pas or the wider “Tri-Community” area — including Opaskwayak Cree Nation and the Rural Municipality of Kelsey — and projects must take place within the boundaries of the Town of The Pas.

Applications for TPCRC small grants of up to $5,000 per project are due January 31, 2026, and all funds must be spent by February 20, 2026. Groups can request an application package through TPCRC’s Small Grants page or from the town office/website and should include a clear budget; quotes are encouraged to strengthen applications.

Mayor Andre Murphy, in a 2023 update, said “delegation of funding is important to create an appropriate budget.” TPCRC guidelines state: “The goal is to be a start up support for pilot programs/events that will continue and grow in the future.” (TPCRC Small Grants Program).

In recent cycles, TPCRC-funded projects included a ceramics (Art Exploration) program at Scott Bateman Middle School and a household hazardous waste collection (both listed as 2023–2024), and The Pas In Motion Committee’s “Senior’s Day In (working with those with dementia)” is listed in 2022–2023. Organizers are encouraged to review the notice and plan projects for the upcoming cycle.
