A waterfront restaurant in Montague, Prince Edward Island, is teaming up with a province-wide hiking event to offer new dining options for visitors this year. Windows On The Water has announced a partnership with The Island Walk to serve as a designated stop for participants finishing their trek along the Montague River.

Starting in May 2026, the restaurant will provide specialized lobster dining packages and streamlined reservations for those walking the 700-kilometre trail. According to organizers from The Island Walk, the 12-kilometre section from Cardigan leads hikers directly to the waterfront in Montague.

The partnership aims to encourage more hikers to stay overnight in the community while enjoying local seafood. Tourism PEI notes that the restaurant is located in a building from the 1850s that originally served as a general store and is now part of the Historic Places of Canada registry.

Official announcements from Windows On The Water state that walkers with official trail badges will have access to exclusive promotions. This collaboration focuses on the peak walking seasons in the spring and autumn of 2026 to help grow local tourism in the region.
