The Montague Volunteer Fire Brigade is looking for new members to help protect the community of Three Rivers, Prince Edward Island. This recruitment drive began on February 10, 2026, to ensure emergency crews can reach fires and medical calls quickly as the area grows. Local residents who want to help can pick up application forms and a safety survey at the Town Hall office on Queens Road.

The Town of Three Rivers has seen a major increase in new buildings and homes, with construction approvals rising by 158 per cent over the last two years. This growth has led to more calls for help, making it important to have enough volunteers ready to respond. New recruits will help keep the local emergency service running and ensure that residents in the Montague area feel safe in their homes.

According to the PEI Firefighters Association, all volunteer members are trained to professional standards to keep themselves and the public safe. People who join the brigade will go through a 16-week training program to learn how to handle different types of emergencies. This training ensures that every member is prepared for the technical needs of modern firefighting and medical response.

The Town of Three Rivers stated that volunteers are the greatest strength of the community and provide a high level of service to their neighbours. By adding more members to the brigade, the town hopes to shorten the time it takes for help to arrive during an emergency. Those interested in joining are encouraged to visit the town office to start the application process.
