The curling team from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in Sarnia, Ontario, finished fourth at the provincial championships held this year in Thunder Bay. The squad, known as the Fighting Irish, competed at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations boys curling championship from March 25 to March 28, 2026, at the Port Arthur Curling Centre.

The team earned an antique bronze medal after a strong run in the tournament. They finished the round-robin portion of the event with an undefeated 4-0 record, followed by a 7-3 victory over Barrie Maple Ridge in the quarter-final. Their journey toward the gold ended following an 8-2 loss in the semifinal to Port Perry High School, the eventual tournament winners. In the match for third place, the Fighting Irish fell 6-4 to London Medway.

The roster for St. Patrick’s included skip Simon Blunt, vice Liam Colosimo, second Nathan Chervinsky, and leads Cyrus Kelly and Everett Garrow, all led by coach Tori Lambe. While Colosimo brought experience from a previous provincial appearance in 2023, teammates Blunt and Chervinsky also contributed significant competitive junior experience to the effort.

The tournament, which featured teams from across the province, saw Port Perry take home gold, while Hammarskjold High School from Thunder Bay claimed silver and London Medway secured the bronze. For the Sarnia school, the achievement marked a high point in recent regional history as the team looked to secure the first provincial gold for a Sarnia-Lambton school since 1999.
