Fans of comic books and pop culture will head to the McIntyre Community Centre on April 11 and April 12, 2026, for the annual TimminsCon event in Timmins, Ontario. The two-day gathering offers residents a chance to meet local creators and browse booths filled with unique items and collectibles.
The Northern Ontario Expo (NOE) is organizing the event, which will use both the arena and the curling club to accommodate over 100 booths and vendors (recent reporting has cited roughly 110–120 booths). Visitors can spend the weekend looking at artist displays, attending discussion panels, and participating in costume competitions.
Organizers are projecting a roughly 25 per cent increase in attendance this year, which they say will help provide a boost to the local economy. The City of Timmins views the convention as a way to bring more people into the downtown area to support small businesses and local shops — a goal aligned with the city’s Downtown Community Improvement Plan.
According to reports from CTV Northern Ontario, the event has become a popular tradition for fans in the region. Information from The Daily Press shows that the convention has grown steadily since it started in 2011, moving from a small ballroom to its current large-scale setup.
