Residents of Timmins, Ontario, will see a familiar brand return when Dairy Queen opens a new DQ Grill & Chill location on January 31, 2026. The opening marks the brand’s return to the community after more than 20 years without a local franchise.
Franchisees Sanjay Malik, Keval Patel, and Harsh Patel are bringing a DQ Grill & Chill to the city, bringing a full kitchen (hot food such as burgers and chicken strips) alongside Dairy Queen’s traditional soft‑serve treats and milkshakes, as reported by TimminsToday.
The project is expected to create approximately 35–50 local jobs. Local residents have frequently requested Dairy Queen’s return on community forums and social media, and many previously had to drive to nearby towns to purchase DQ products.
