Local artists and business owners are gathering at the Porcupine Mall in Timmins, Ontario, for a special indoor market. The Winter Carnival runs on February 13, 14 and 15, 2026, giving residents a chance to shop for early Mother’s Day gifts while staying dry from the uncharacteristic February rain.
The event is organized by the Porcupine Mall Craft & Vendor Show group and features approximately 20–30 local makers. Visitors can find handmade silver jewelry from vendors like Twisted Crystal, as well as textile art and specialty foods set up near the Dollarama entrance.
This market is part of an effort to keep the shopping centre busy after the Metro grocery store closed its doors in August 2019. Community leaders say these pop-up events are important for the East End, especially with new investment in the area from Discovery Silver Corp. (Discovery), which announced plans related to the Porcupine Complex in 2025, and with construction underway on the Timmins–Porcupine Northlander station nearby.
The indoor setting allows the market to continue despite the rainy weather. Organizers hope the event encourages neighbours to support local entrepreneurs while the community continues to grow and change.
