The Town of View Royal has shared its full schedule for the annual Canada Day celebration at Craigflower Manor on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The free, family-friendly event is run in partnership with the Victoria Highland Games Association and will feature live entertainment, cultural displays, and activities for all ages.
Residents can fill the holiday morning and afternoon at the National Historic Site without spending a cent. Organizers are encouraging people to walk, bike, or take the bus, as no on-site parking will be available.
The festival continues a years-long partnership between the town and the Victoria Highland Games Association, a non-profit that has been a fixture in Greater Victoria since the late 1930s. The group holds a 30-year renewable tenure with the province to steward Craigflower Manor and also operates the Victoria Scottish Cultural Centre, a 10,000-square-foot community hub that opened on the property in January 2023 with $5.5 million in government grants and private donations.
The historic manor, completed in 1856 as part of Hudson’s Bay Company farming operations, is one of only five remaining colonial buildings in Victoria.
The town is still looking for volunteers to help the day run smoothly. Anyone interested can reach coordinator Gary Mathies at [email protected]. Shifts are flexible, usually running between two and three hours.
