The fourth annual Golf for a Cause tournament will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, organized by United Way Waterloo Region Communities. Registration is open now (early registration pricing ends May 9, 2026). Participants will have driving range access beginning at 8:00 a.m., with registration and a continental breakfast in the morning and a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. The post-tournament 19th Hole Reception & Networking, featuring a grazing table, runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

United Way CEO Joan Fisk and Board Chair Neena Gupta are leading efforts to secure corporate sponsorships; historic sponsorship tiers have ranged from about $1,000 to $10,000+. Funds raised through individual and team fees, sponsorship packages and on-course activations will support the Community Impact Fund, which backs local agencies addressing homelessness, food insecurity and mental health.

Last year’s tournament raised nearly $85,000 in a single day, according to CambridgeToday. Organizers are aiming to match or exceed that total to help ensure grant stability for the 2026–2027 cycle.

Proceeds will support more than 80 community partners, including Compass Refugee Centre, Greenway-Chaplin Community Centre and Kinbridge Community Association. UWWR has said early event announcements provide local agencies and partners a more predictable funding window; if you assert that businesses provide matching contributions in response to the announcement, confirm that example with a direct source or quote before publication.
