Wilfrid Laurier University is reminding students that winter-term tuition and incidental fees for the 12-week Winter 2026 session are due on January 5, 2026 — the same day Winter 2026 classes begin. Laurier delivers programs on the Waterloo, Brantford and Milton campuses. Students who miss the deadline will face a 1.25% monthly late payment penalty on unpaid balances and may have financial holds placed on their records that can restrict access to grades, transcripts and future course registration.
Invoices for the winter term were posted in late November to early December 2025. Students can pay their fees through Canadian online banking by setting up “Wilfrid Laurier University” as a payee (enter your student number as the account number), or international students and payers outside Canada can use the CIBC International Student Pay portal. Those relying on OSAP do not generally need to submit a separate payment, as approved government funding is typically applied to student accounts once disbursed. Graduate students may also enrol in Laurier’s Tuition Payment Plan Program (graduate payment plan) to break fees into instalments.
Any balance left unpaid after January 5 will incur the monthly 1.25% late fee until the account is settled. Financial holds may be applied if balances remain unpaid after the due date, preventing course registration for upcoming terms and barring access to official academic documents until the account is brought into good standing. Students wishing to drop 12-week courses without being charged must do so between January 5 and January 9, 2026.
While the Winter Laurier Tuition Bursary application opens on February 2, 2026, bursary awards cannot be relied upon to meet the January 5 deadline. Students who need help to cover fees before bursary funds become available should contact Service Laurier for information about emergency grants, short-term loans and other supports, where available.
