Local families can explore hidden history this week as the Central Alberta Regional Museums Network (CARMN), in collaboration with the Reynolds‑Alberta Museum and the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum Centre, hosts a series of special events and tours in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, from January 23 to January 29, 2026.

The Reynolds‑Alberta Museum is opening its Collections Storage Facility (warehouse) for 75-minute guided “Warehouse Public Tours,” giving visitors a rare look at hundreds of vintage cars and machines not usually on display. Museum admission is required and pre-booking through the museum’s online calendar is recommended. Note: the warehouse tour cannot accommodate mobility aids (including scooters, walkers or wheelchairs), children under 12 are not permitted, and tour groups are limited in size.

At the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum Centre, programming focuses on hands-on activities for children at the Children’s Legacy Centre. A Passport ticket system allows guests to visit both local museums at a discounted rate while learning about the history of the city and the Maskwacis Cree Four Nations.

The week of events concludes with a community dinner on the evening of Thursday, January 29, 2026, held in the museum’s Larson Gallery to recruit volunteers and support local history groups. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children and are available at the Star Store Gift Shop or through the museum’s online portal.
