The Weyburn Beavers are launching their 2026 sponsorship campaign, anchored by the club’s annual sports dinner expected in mid-to-late March, to raise money for the 2026 Western Canadian Baseball League season in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The event is the primary way the team secures the more-than-$100,000 budget needed to operate the club and host collegiate players from across North America.

The funds raised help cover the costs of housing 25+ collegiate players with local billet families and pay for maintenance and upgrades at Tom Laing Park. Club president Garnet Hansen says the fundraiser is vital for providing a home for these athletes while they play summer games in the community.

Following a resurgent 2025 season in which the Beavers climbed to fifth place in the East Division, the club is using that momentum to attract local sponsors. The money raised is also directed to maintaining the Penta Completions VIP Fan Deck and other facilities at the Weyburn Exhibition Grounds.

Residents can support the team by attending the dinner, which typically includes a catered meal and a silent auction featuring items such as signed sports memorabilia. The fundraiser helps the team compete with larger-market clubs and remain viable for local fans when the season opens in late May 2026.
