The Weyburn Humane Society and Boston Pizza Weyburn have teamed up to raise money for animal care throughout February 2026 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. From February 1–28, customers at the restaurant can purchase a paper heart (typically $2 or more) for a donation; 100% of the paper-heart proceeds go directly to the Weyburn Humane Society to help pay for food, medical care and daily supplies for pets waiting for new homes.
The fundraiser is strictly for operational support while the society finishes construction of a new East Avenue shelter. According to WHS fundraising materials, the new facility is a $2.3‑million project at 1810 East Avenue; local reporting says the buildings are enclosed and the move-in is expected by summer 2026. This particular campaign focuses on the costs of running the current, aging facility during the transition.
Shelter staff say these donations are essential for covering emergency veterinary care, surgeries and vaccinations as needed. The current building has faced space and maintenance challenges in recent years, including issues with mold and flooding; the operational fundraiser helps ensure there is no break in service while the team prepares to move to the new East Avenue facility.
In addition to the paper hearts, Boston Pizza Weyburn will promote heart-shaped pizzas on February 13 and 14, 2026; a portion of proceeds from those sales will also support the local organization. Those who cannot visit the restaurant can donate online through the Weyburn Humane Society’s CanadaHelps charity page.
