The Durham Regional Police Service East Division is inviting residents to a fitness and recruitment event in Whitby, Ontario, on February 24, 2026. The Work Out With A Cop session runs from 12:45 PM to 2:30 PM at the Whitby Football Club, located within the Whitby Soccer Centre at 695 Rossland Road West.
People who attend the event can meet active officers to talk about careers in law enforcement and participate in a fitness test. This gives potential applicants a chance to try the physical requirements of the job before they start the formal application process.
The Durham Regional Police Service is currently looking to hire 100 new officers to help serve the region as the local population continues to grow. These new hires must meet specific physical standards, including a test known as the Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police.
In addition to the physical test, those interested in a career with the police must earn an official certification from the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. This event at the soccer dome helps people learn more about these requirements directly from the Durham Regional Police Service recruitment team.
