Whitby Public Library’s Rossland Branch is offering a drop-in “Lego Winter Village” activity through December 31, 2025, with no registration needed. The seasonal display invites families to build with Lego Winter Village materials provided by the library during regular branch hours, offering an accessible holiday activity in Whitby.

The Rossland Branch, located at 701 Rossland Road East, supplies Lego materials in its communal area. Patrons can visit any time during open hours and join in building or adding to the village. The branch closes early at 5 p.m. on December 31.

As the smallest of Whitby’s three library locations, the Rossland Branch is known for high-demand, family-friendly events. By removing the need to register, the library hopes to lower barriers to access and increase walk-in visits during the busy holiday period.

This initiative supports the library’s 2024–2028 strategic plan, which emphasizes putting people first and creating welcoming community spaces. It also builds on past Lego programs — including a library-hosted build during the Town of Whitby’s July festival — and aligns with the library’s ongoing holiday traditions.
