The Whitby Sports Hall of Fame is preparing to honour its newest members during the 28th annual induction ceremony on April 25, 2026, at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Whitby, Ontario. This gala serves as a major community event to celebrate local sporting history and the people who have helped it grow over the years.
Retired CBC Sports broadcaster and author Scott Russell will serve as the keynote speaker for the evening. Long-time announcer Rob Snoek is also set to return as the Master of Ceremonies to lead the night’s celebrations.
This year’s class of inductees includes lacrosse athlete Eric Perroni and hockey volunteer Delmer (Del) Rints. Rints is being recognized for his 40 years of dedicated service as a builder for the International Silver Stick hockey tournament.
The 2001 Anderson CVI Boys AAA Volleyball team will also be inducted into the hall of fame to mark their past achievements. The event aims to connect the town with its athletic past while encouraging the next generation of local athletes.
