The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, will host its annual Doors Open event on June 6, 2026, giving residents free access to various local landmarks and heritage sites. Running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the event is part of a province-wide initiative coordinated by the Ontario Heritage Trust to showcase community history and modern operations.
Visitors can explore several locations that are often closed to the public or usually require an admission fee. Regular participants include the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre, the public library, and the local town hall council chambers.
At the town operations centre, families can see heavy municipal machinery like snow plows up close. Local historian Fred Robbins has researched and checked facts for guided tours that explain the history behind many of the community’s oldest buildings.
According to Discover Stouffville, the event is designed to bring more foot traffic to downtown shops and museums. As of February 2026, the town is still looking for more local sites and businesses to join the tour list for the upcoming June event.
