The Allan & Jean Millar Centre in Whitecourt, Alberta, is hosting a week of free fitness class previews running the week of January 13, 2026. The annual “Flirt with Fitness” event gives residents a chance to sample registered exercise programs and meet instructors before committing to full-term registrations.

Organized by the Town of Whitecourt’s Community Services Department and hosted by staff at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre, the program is designed to help people find a workout routine that fits their personal needs and goals. Classes will be held in various areas of the building, including JR’s Pressure Service Fieldhouse and the ASAP Heating & Well Servicing Fitness Centre.

Residents can participate in these preview sessions without needing a gym membership or a special pass for that week, though some sessions may require sign-in or have capacity limits. A full list of available activities and the final class schedule will be published in the Town’s Community Spectrum leisure guide.

Town officials say the initiative is intended to make it easier for neighbours to stay active during the winter months when regular exercise habits often slow down. The preview sessions typically range from high-energy workouts to gentle, low-impact classes designed specifically for seniors.

For confirmed dates, class times and instructor listings, consult the Allan & Jean Millar Centre pages and the Winter 2026 Community Spectrum on the Town of Whitecourt website when they are posted.
