The Town of Whitecourt is inviting families to Festival Park for a day of free outdoor activities on Saturday, February 14, 2026. This winter celebration in Whitecourt, Alberta, is designed to give residents a way to enjoy the Family Day long weekend without needing to register or pay for admission.
Activities will run from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and include skating on the pond, horse-drawn wagon rides, and an ice slide. Visitors can also participate in winter games and view snow sculptures at the park, which is located at the north end of 51 Street.
According to a Town of Whitecourt announcement reported by CFWE, the event focuses on making local recreation accessible to everyone. CFWE also reports the carnival will offer free hot chocolate, hot dogs and bannock for attendees, keeping costs low for families during the holiday.
The event takes place at Festival Park, a facility formerly known as Rotary Park. This year’s festivities coincide with the Whitecourt Trailblazers’ Annual Family Snowmobile Rally, which holds key activities on Feb. 14 and often brings many visitors to the community.
The SnowSeekers travel feature notes that the carnival typically includes treats like hot chocolate for those attending. The town schedules the event on Saturday so families have plenty of time for outdoor fun before the Monday statutory holiday.
