Residents in Winkler, Manitoba, should prepare for a shift to colder weather and snow as a cold front moves through the region this weekend. While Friday started with relatively mild conditions, the weather is expected to turn by Saturday evening.

As of 5:00 AM CDT on March 20, 2026, Environment Canada reports there are no active weather alerts for the community. However, the forecast indicates that conditions will become more challenging for those travelling through the area over the next 48 hours.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the region will see a high of +3°C with a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day. As night falls, the rain is expected to turn into periods of snow while temperatures drop to a low of -6°C.

Stronger winds are also expected, with sustained northerly winds of 30 km/h on Saturday. These wind speeds, combined with the incoming snow, could impact visibility and road conditions on regional routes like Highway 3 and Highway 14.

This late-season weather transition is typical for the spring period in southern Manitoba. Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates as the system moves through the Pembina Valley.
