The City of Winkler has issued two public hearing notices regarding proposed land-use changes in the community. The notices, which were posted on March 31, 2026, address a property by-law for 195 Eastview Dr. and a land subdivision in the southwest quarter of section 2-3-4WPM.

These hearings are part of the municipal development process overseen by the MSTW Planning District. Under the provincial Planning Act, property owners and occupiers located within 100 feet of these sites must be notified at least 10 days before the hearings are held.

Residents interested in learning more or sharing input on these proposals can attend upcoming Winkler City Council meetings. These sessions are held at 185 Main Street and begin at 6:30 p.m. The meetings, which are open to the public, take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month and are also available to watch via live stream.

Winkler continues to see active development and growth, with residential construction remaining a strong contributor to the city’s building permit activity. In 2025, the city issued 246 building permits, a year marked by a doubling of permits for new single-family homes.
