Families and newcomers in Winkler, Manitoba, are invited to attend a free community celebration in the neighbouring city of Morden on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The Explore Morden Winkler tourism group is hosting the event to bring residents from across the region together for a day of winter activities.

The festival will take place at the Access Event Centre (111 Gilmour St, Morden) and its surrounding parks, with activities scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors can expect a mix of indoor cultural displays and outdoor recreation, and organizers say they are focusing on making new residents feel welcome in the Pembina Valley.

This year’s event is part of a larger effort to connect the two cities, which are currently working together on several regional projects. The festival also highlights the multicultural roots of the area through food and tradition displays organized in partnership with the immigrant‑services agency Regional Connections.

Organizers say the Valentine’s Day event is a good way for neighbours to meet before the two cities jointly host the Manitoba 55+ Games later this June. There is no cost to attend the festival, which organizers say is supported by more than 100 local volunteers; previous editions of Winterfest have mobilized several hundred volunteers.
