The City of Winkler has published an updated FAQ and rules for its Winkler On-Demand Transit pilot, allowing riders to book trips as late as 15 minutes before pickup and up to seven days in advance. The service is offered on a 30‑month trial basis and charges a flat $5 one‑way fare payable by exact cash (drivers do not carry change), credit, or through the Blaise Transit mobile app.

Riders can schedule trips by phone, online (create a profile at Blaise Transit) or via the Blaise mobile app; the City’s FAQ provides information and links to these booking channels. Bookings can be made up to seven days ahead and, per the pilot rules, as late as 15 minutes before pickup. Drivers will wait one minute at a pickup before moving on to the next ride.

Unaccompanied passengers must be at least 13 years old, and drivers will assist people who visibly need help at the shuttle but will not escort riders to or from a person’s door. Service hours are Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Sundays and statutory holidays: no service).

The service covers all areas within Winkler city limits and provides non‑emergency rides to Boundary Trails Health Centre. The pilot launched in late November 2024 and will run for 30 months, aiming to support shift workers, seniors and residents needing non‑emergency medical transportation while collecting data to evaluate a potential permanent transit system.

The FAQ notes riders can cancel a ride for free prior to dispatch; it also contains additional information on cancellations, no‑shows and other service policies — consult the City’s FAQ for full details.
