Fire crews in Woodstock, Ontario, responded late afternoon/evening on January 27, 2026, to a structure fire involving a residential garage on Norwich Avenue. Members of the Woodstock Fire Department worked to keep the flames from spreading to the main house while the fire was brought under control.

Because the fire was on a busy road, the Woodstock Police Service closed off parts of Norwich Avenue to give emergency vehicles and water hoses room to work. The Woodstock Fire Department issued an “avoid the area” advisory; local outlet 104.7 Heart FM reported authorities asked drivers to stay away for several hours until the scene was safe.

No injuries were reported, and officials have not released an estimate of damage or a cause. Fire investigators are looking into the origin and cause; investigators have not yet confirmed whether the garage was attached to the house or detached. Residents can check the Woodstock Sentinel-Review for updates as more information becomes available.
