The Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) plant in Woodstock, Ontario, officially began producing the all-new 2026 RAV4 on January 23, 2026. The sixth-generation RAV4 for North America is being offered exclusively with electrified powertrains (available as hybrid and plug‑in hybrid models), marking a shift away from gasoline‑only variants.

According to Toyota Canada’s media release, the company invested CAD $1.1 billion to retool its Woodstock and Cambridge facilities to support the new RAV4 platform and hybrid systems. Toyota says this investment supports the roughly 8,500 people employed across its Cambridge and Woodstock operations.

Government and industry representatives attended the launch events and plant tours. CBC reported that Liberal MP Kareem Bardeesy was among those in attendance; company officials and news coverage noted the move to an all‑hybrid RAV4 lineup aligns with growing consumer demand for more fuel‑efficient vehicles.

The Woodstock facility, which opened in 2008, has grown into a major North American production site. Coverage in Automotive News Canada and other outlets suggests that by focusing on high‑tech electrified models and in‑house battery‑pack assembly, the plant is well‑positioned to remain a key employer in the region.
