The Yorkton Exhibition Association will join agricultural leaders from across the province in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on March 21 and 22, 2026. This two-day event, called Betting On The Future, is the annual convention hosted by the Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions. The meeting will be held at the Living Sky Casino Event Centre and focuses on the next generation of community events.
Yorkton hosted this provincial gathering in 2025, but this year the local group will participate as guests to learn about new trends in event planning. President Lyle Walsh will lead the local delegation to gather practical tools for upcoming local shows like the Summer Fair and Harvest Showdown. The group plans to bring back information on digital marketing and new ways to find event sponsors.
The schedule features workshops on youth engagement and a session on Indigenous perspectives led by Elder Dale Mosquito of the Nekaneet First Nation. Organizers will also receive training on safety coordination and management tools used to run modern fairs. These sessions are designed to help volunteers handle the day-to-day operations of large community festivals more easily.
A major part of the convention is the SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Awards Banquet. This ceremony gives the Yorkton association a chance to see local volunteers recognized for their hard work on a provincial stage. Organizers will also have the opportunity to network with other societies to find new educational displays that could visit Yorkton in the future.
