Families in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, can take part in a hands-on activity this afternoon (May 3, 2026) as the Western Development Museum hosts a Mother’s Day Crafter-noon workshop. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the museum located on Hwy 16A West.
During the session, participants will create leather flower arrangements. The cost for the workshop is $7 plus regular museum admission. A special family rate is available for $57, which covers two adults and three youth, while museum members can participate for $7.
The program includes admission to the museum galleries, a special Mother’s Day museum quest, refreshments, and all necessary craft supplies. Because the workshop involves the use of sharp tools, it is not suitable for children under 7 years old. Additionally, all participants under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Western Development Museum, which sits on Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 territories and the Homeland of the Métis, focuses on the history of immigrants to Saskatchewan. As the largest human history museum in the province, it maintains a collection of nearly 80,000 artifacts.
