The St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market in Waterloo, Ontario, is hosting a special First Responders Day on Thursday, March 19, 2026. This family-friendly event is designed to give children a chance to learn about safety while meeting local emergency workers during their school holidays.
The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the outdoor area of the market. Families can explore various emergency vehicles and take part in interactive displays hosted by the Waterloo Regional Police Service, the Woolwich Fire Department, and the Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services.
The activity takes place during the 2026 March Break, which the Waterloo Region District School Board and other schools across Ontario have set for the week of March 16. Organizers expect the event to bring more visitors to the district during the middle of the week.
In addition to the emergency service activities, visitors can also experience the Maple Trail 2026. This month-long event features vendors across the market district offering specialized maple products and treats to celebrate the season.
The market district has been owned and operated by Schlegel Urban Developments since 2018. Families visiting for the event are encouraged to plan for extra travel time, as these activities often lead to higher demand for parking in the area.
