The Chestermere Fine Art Guild has released its lineup for March 2026, giving residents in Chestermere, Alberta, several ways to learn new art skills. These events, held at the Chestermere Recreation Centre at 201 West Chestermere Drive, include weekly drop-in sessions, specialized evening classes, and full-day workshops.
An evening class focused on ‘Introduction to Coloured Pencil Creations’ takes place on March 2, 2026, starting at 7 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own pencils and Bristol paper for this session. The guild will also host an ‘Abstract Flow Art’ session on March 16. Later in the month, on March 26, 2026, artist Kim Baptiste will lead a workshop on how to paint animal portraits using acrylics from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The group is also starting to prepare for its Annual Art Exhibition and Sale, which is set for May 9, 2026. Members will hold a planning meeting on March 9, 2026, at 7 p.m. to organize the logistics for the spring event. These sessions are mostly held in the MPP Room at the recreation centre.
For those who want to practice regularly, the guild offers weekly afternoon art sessions every Thursday. Annual membership costs $70, which covers these weekly sessions and allows local artists to show and sell their work during the annual exhibition in May.
