The City of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, is moving ahead with plans to repair roads and underground pipes on 102 Street and 109 Street during the 2026 construction season. This work is part of a local program to fix aging infrastructure before it breaks, ensuring that neighbourhoods have reliable water and sewer services along with smoother roads.
Construction will focus on 102 Street between 98 Avenue and 99 Avenue, as well as 109 Street between 100 Avenue and 101 Avenue. While these projects are currently in the design phase, the city expects work to begin later this year to modernize old utility lines and road surfaces.
Residents and drivers in these areas should prepare for temporary changes to parking and road access while crews are working. According to the City of Fort Saskatchewan, these short-term disruptions are necessary to prevent the total failure of aging pipes and to meet current safety standards.
Planning is also underway for future repairs on 104 Street between 98 Avenue and 99 Avenue. A request for design proposals for that project closed on February 26, 2026, with construction for that specific block planned for the 2027 season.
