On March 5, 2026, the Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested two teenagers after investigating threats made toward a public elementary school in Kitchener, Ontario. Police first received information about the threats on March 4, 2026.
Officers found that the threats were sent through the internet. A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested the following day and charged with uttering threats to cause death. They were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
The police notified the school administration about the investigation while it was happening. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that there is no further risk to the safety of students or staff at the school.
