Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Colwood, British Columbia, warning residents of low-elevation snowfall on the morning of Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The alert warns that an unstable cold air mass could bring enough snow to create difficult driving conditions during the morning rush hour.
Weather officials expect between a trace and 4 centimetres of snow for areas near sea level. Residents living in higher terrain, including those travelling along the Malahat Highway, could see 5 centimetres or more by the end of the morning.
The weather office says the snow will be highly variable over short distances, which can lead to sudden drops in visibility during heavy flurries. Local drivers are encouraged to allow for extra travel time and prepare for changing road conditions as they head out for the day.
