Residents in south Guelph, Ontario, have a new option for treating minor medical emergencies. CareXPS Urgent Care opened its doors in February 2026 at 1030 Gordon St. to provide an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for non-life-threatening health issues.
The clinic provides care for various medical needs, including cuts that need stitches, sprained ankles, minor burns, and common illnesses like fevers or earaches. Patients can also visit the on-site pharmacy for prescriptions or go across the hall to Guelph Medical Imaging if they require X-rays or other diagnostic tests.
While the urgent care and pharmacy services are covered by the provincial health plan, the facility also includes a private wellness area. This section offers services like chiropractic and naturopathic care which are paid for directly or through private insurance rather than the government.
Clinic director Dr. Justine Rodrigues and pharmacist Brijal Patel designed the facility to help reduce wait times at local hospitals by offering medical help closer to home. An official grand opening for the community is planned for March 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
